The end of the regular season is coming soon and with that the playoffs will begin. We want to thank everyone for an amazing season so far!!
Before we get into the playoff schedule we have a few items to address.
1) The committee has made the decision to cancel the last week of play (March 26) for the men's 2nd division. This week is not a necessary night to play as it begins a new rotation. Cancelling this week ensures all teams have played each other equally. We would appreciate each captain in the 2nd division letting each of their players know and acknowledging they received this email to ensure all teams have been notified. 2) The dart banquet is Saturday May 11th upstairs at the Legion. Last years banquet was a hit and we hope to make this years even better! Tickets are $30 and this will include dinner, prizes, a live band and more! We will be announcing the sale of tickets soon! Please let your Team know!
Playoffs format and dates Home venue advantage goes to the highest seed until the finals. Finals are played at the Legion. We have been advised that the Squires is closing for renovations beginning April 2nd. Therefore, any Squires team who is awarded home venue will be playing at the away venue but will remain the home team. We will send out another email after the regular season has ended with which teams will be playing each other and where.

Hello First, we want to say thank you to everyone for coming back to the Burlington Dart League this 2022-2023 season and for your patience with the committee while we iron out the league after Covid shut us down for a few years. As some of you may not know, our committee is smaller this year and with that, the individuals who are left are working hard to make it as smooth as possible! The Executive of the Burlington Dart League are happy to announce that Amanda Ghadban has joined the committee as our Results Secretary. Amanda will be entering all scores onto the website each week so we are up-to-date with all standings. We want to thank Amanda for taking on this role! For all future games, please email your scoresheet to Burlingtondartleague@gmail.com Playoffs and Make up games Make up games - Only the Mixed and Women's league have make up games to play. Mixed League - We will not be making up the Family day missed game. This game was cancelled as most players simply didn't want to play on Family day. We will not be able to squeeze in this make up game before the playoffs and banquet, therefore we have decided to cancel that game all together. Feb 27 was a snow day, therefore it will be made up on April 10. This is Easter Monday, home teams please check and make sure your bar will allow teams to play. Home teams for Feb 27 (April 10) games are Legion Armed and Hammered, Boston Flames, Piper Arms and Black Bull. It shouldn't be a problem, however if it is, we can always arrange another venue to play at. Once the make up game are finished, we start playoffs. April 17 is first round and 8 teams. April 24 is semis and May 1 are the finals, downstairs at the Legion. We will be in touch with everyone after April 10 with more details as to final standings and who is playing who in the first round of playoffs. Women's League - Feb 15 and Feb 22 need to still be played as they were cancelled due to snow. April 5 and 12 will be our make up nights for those two missed nights. Once they are complete, we will start playoffs. April 19th will be the semi finals and April 26th will be the finals. We will let everyone know the final standings and who is playing who once the make up games are complete. Men's League - Since there are 10 teams this year, we will be having a Wild Card round to determine the 7th and 8th place teams who will continue on to playoffs. The Wild Card round will be April 11 and will be 7th place vs 10th place and 8th place vs 9th place. Once the 7th and 8th place teams are determined, we will be splitting the division into 2 divisions and will have the top four teams play for the City Cup of Division 1 and the bottom four teams play for the City Cup of Division 2. This will begin on April 18th, which is the semis for top 4 teams (Div 1) and bottom 4 teams (Div 2). Finals will be Wed April 26th upstairs at the Legion. We will be in touch end of next week with final standings and which teams will be playing in the Wild Card round. Banquet - May 6 - We will be holding our annual banquet upstairs at the Legion on Saturday May 6th. It's a great night to honor all the winners not only for the 2022-2023 season, but also for the 2019-2020 season we lost to Covid. Dinner, dancing, prizes and lots of fun!! Look for an email coming shortly with more details on how to buy tickets. We hope everyone can attend and support the Burlington Dart League and Legion! Thank you Executive Committee Burlington Dart League

Hi! We hope you are all doing well and have survived the Covid onslaught.
We are prepared to start league darts again in the Fall – the same as our previous norm. As we did not have a banquet at the end of 2020, all team awards and tournament prizing due will be given out at the banquet this year.
So we can accurately plan and look to scheduling, we would appreciate it if you could let us know your teams intent for the coming dart season by August 15th. We plan to hold team registration for Mixed, Ladies and Men’s darts the end of August with a third week in September Start date. At this point what we would like to know is if your team plans to return to the Burlington Dart League, and what venues you will be using as your home base.
Once we hear back from you, we will begin to contact players where the team may not be coming back, but some of the players will want to play. At that point, we can help the Captains who are needing additional players. We will provide you with more information once we have an idea of the number of teams returning. Until we know, we cannot determine how many divisions will be in each section.
Thank you for your understanding during the past two years, as with everyone, it was out of our control. Your Burlington Dart League Executive

Well, in the pre-covid world we would be gearing up for the 2020/21 dart season. Unfortunately, we have talked with a number of captains and venues and based on the venue response right now, the bars and restaurants normally sponsoring teams are not ready to lose their limited seating capacity for darts right now. While a number of players are anxious to get started, there are as many who are concerned about the use of masks, social distancing, etc. With this in mind, we have no choice but to postpose the season until January. This is a decision that was not made lightly and will be monitored on a monthly basis so we are ready to open the season as soon as possible. Once we are in a position to have teams/players register we will be able to determine the divisions, and the length of the season. We will keep captains and players posted through both the teamopolis website and the Facebook page. We would appreciate it if you could email back and let us know if you will be putting a team in and whether your venue is willing to sponsor a team this year – beginning in January. We know you are as disappointed with this situation as we are, and thank you for working with us as we continue to get the league up and running in the post covid world. Burlington Dart League

After careful consideration and input from a number of teams, we have made the decision to cancel the remainder of the regular season. At this time, we are still planning to move forward with playoffs and will keep you posted as to the current dates. Currently April 1 will begin the Ladies playoff schedule, April 7th will begin the men's playoff schedule and April 20th will begin the mixed. However, as mentioned, we are monitoring the situation with the Covid 19 virus and playoffs may be moved or cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We would like to request that captains contact their home venue and advise them that darts have been cancelled for the next two weeks. Thank you for your patience, Regards, Burlington Dart League Executive
